About Vacirca Brothers

Die Brüder Franco und Demetrio Vacirca haben 1989 die erste JKD Concepts-Muay Thai-Filipino Kali Academy gegründet. 1991 haben sie das brasilianische Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in Europa eingeführt. Die erste offizielle Vacirca Brothers – Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy wurde 1995 in Zürich eröffnet, und im Jahr darauf wurde das BJJ-Netzwerk GRACIE CONCEPTS® gegründet.

Franco Vacirca, bekannt als “Prof. de Jiu-Jitsu”, ist der erste Schwarzgurt in Europa und heute der ranghöchste Europäer im BJJ (Coral Belt, 7. Grad). Er hat seine Ausbildung zum Gracie Jiu-Jitsu-Lehrer bei Grossmeister Pedro Hemetério gemacht. Ausserdem ist Franco seit 1986 Meisterschüler von Ajarn Surachai Sirisute und hat den Titel Kun Khru im Muay Thai.

Das Trainerteam besteht aus Leuten, die sich für Kampfsport begeistern. Prof. Franco trainiert und unterstützt das ganze Trainerteam persönlich. Er spricht sechs Sprachen und hat in Asien, Kalifornien und Europa gelebt. Ausserdem leitet er an mehreren Wochenenden im Jahr Seminare. Sein 2001 veröffentlichtes Buch “GJJ Unlocked” wurde in mehrere Sprachen übersetzt. Die Vacirca Brothers haben mehrere DVDs zu den Themen Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Selbstverteidigung und Mobilität herausgebracht.

Ausserdem erscheint monatlich ein Artikel in sieben Sprachen weltweit in der Zeitschrift BUDO/KAMPFKUNST International. Franco arbeitet seit über 30 Jahren als Berater für das Militär, die Polizei und Spezialeinheiten. Er lebt in Zürich, wo er regelmässig Kurse unterrichtet. The Vacirca Brothers, Franco and Demetrio, established the first JKD Concepts-Muay Thai-Filipino Kali Academy in 1989. In 1991, they introduced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) to the European continent. The first official Vacirca Brothers – Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy opened in Zurich in 1995, and the BJJ network GRACIE CONCEPTS® was established the following year.

Franco Vacirca, known as “Prof. de Jiu-Jitsu”, is the first black belt in Europe and the highest-ranked European in BJJ today (Coral belt, 7th degree). He completed his training as a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instructor under Grand Master Pedro Hemetério. Furthermore, Franco has been a master student of Ajarn Surachai Sirisute since 1986 and holds the title Kun Khru (teacher) in Muay Thai.

The coaching team comprises individuals with a strong passion for martial arts. Prof. Franco personally trains and supports the entire coaching team. He has knowledge of six languages and has lived in Asia, California and Europe. He also works as a seminar leader on several weekends throughout the year. His book GJJ Unlocked, published in 2001, has been translated into several languages. The Vacirca Brothers have released several DVDs on Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, and mobility.

Additionally, an article appears monthly in seven languages worldwide in the magazine BUDO/KAMPFKUNST International. Franco has worked as a consultant for the military, police and special forces for 30+ years. He lives in Zurich, where he regularly teaches courses.
