01 | Check-In

You must scan your membership card at the check-in point every time you visit.

02 | Workout Clothing & Personal Hygiene

Training on the tatami mats is permitted only when barefoot.

In mixed-gender groups, the use of groin protection (for both men and women) is required.

We also recommend that women wear a breast guard.

We ask all members to train in a clean and well-maintained BJJ-specific gi. During the summer, we sometimes have “nogi” training sessions, during which we train in BJJ fight shorts (or gi pants) and a rash guard or T-shirt. Please never train shirtless or in a tank top (sleeveless shirt).

Our BJJ gi’s help keep us all dry and comfortable. Please wear only white, blue, or black gi’s for training; the pants and jacket should always be the same color. During master seminars, you must always wear a white gi!

03 | Workout Etiquette & Equipment Use (in the Gym Area)

You must be at least 16 years old to use the equipment.

All members are required to return weights, mats, benches, and other equipment to their designated places after use. The safety locks on the barbell bars must always be used. Dropping or letting weight plates and dumbbells fall uncontrollably is prohibited. Barbells must be placed on the equipment gently. To protect the padding and for hygiene reasons, you must always bring a towel (no jackets or sweaters) to use as a sweat pad or rent one at the front desk for CHF 5. Cardio equipment must be cleaned with disinfectant after each use. Talking on the phone, listening to music, speaking loudly, or groaning may disturb other gym-goers. Therefore, please keep the volume at a reasonable level.

04 | Treating Others with Respect

In our dojos and schools, we treat one another with respect.

This applies before, during, and after training. When interacting with fellow students and/or instructors outside of training hours and away from our facilities, the same respectful behavior is expected as on-site. Techniques and drills, as well as randori and sparring during partner exercises, will be adapted to the skill level of the partner.

Leave your ego at the door!

05 | General Information

Lockers (if available) must be left empty and clean after practice.

We are not responsible for items left in the locker room or valuables. If there are children in the locker room, adults must wait for them to leave the room first. This applies especially if adults also wish to shower.

Children and teenagers shouldn't be left alone in the training area!

We assume no liability for any injuries.

You must leave the training areas (or tatami) no later than 10 minutes before the dojo closes.

Serious and repeated violations will result in suspension from training and, if necessary, termination of membership without entitlement to a refund. Members are generally required to follow the instructions of the staff.
